Our client is currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to oversee the design, development, and evolution of their data landscape. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development of the data architecture, bridging the gap between engineering and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Define, document, and maintain the overall architecture of the client's data ecosystem, including data models, data flows, and data governance policies
• Collaborate closely with partners across the organisation to ensure alignment on architecture decisions
• Develop and maintain logical data models that accurately represent the company's data assets
• Design and implement data governance frameworks and standards
• Conduct and present regular reviews, assessments and findings of the existing data architecture, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation as part of the continuous improvement plan 
• Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data assets and processes 
• Develop ETL/ELT processes/frameworks to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse
• Lead and participate in the migration of data and applications from one cloud environment to another.
  

Criteria:

• Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP and including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, coupled with migrating between cloud platforms
• Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Google Big Query, Python, and Kubernetes
• Proficient in SQL with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Scala)
• Experience with data modelling techniques (e.g., dimensional modelling, snowflake schema).
• Proven knowledge in database fundamentals and enterprise data modelling 
• Proven experience in data governance and compliance regulations
• Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
